The Objective
The primary goal of this initiative was to enhance the technical capabilities of the TDS Department's staff in handling digital systems, ERP platforms, and standard forensic tools.
As digital financial trails become increasingly complex, empowering internal staff with the skills to navigate ERP environments and perform preliminary forensic analysis became a strategic priority to reduce reliance on external experts.
Capability Gaps and Challenges
Our initial assessment revealed a significant lack of hands-on experience with modern forensic tools among the staff. Furthermore, their exposure to complex enterprise ERP systems, such as SAP, was limited primarily to basic operational tasks rather than investigative deep dives.
The department required a highly practical, real-world training curriculum. Theoretical knowledge alone was insufficient; the staff needed actionable skills that they could apply immediately to their daily compliance monitoring and investigation routines.
A Tailored Training Approach
We began with a comprehensive Training Needs Assessment. By evaluating skill gaps across different teams, we identified the key tools and platforms used in their daily operations and aligned our curriculum accordingly.
The customized training program was structured to quickly ramp up their proficiency. It covered Digital Forensics Fundamentals, emphasizing proper data handling and evidence awareness. We conducted deep-dive modules into ERP Systems (such as SAP) and the targeted usage of specialized investigation software.
The core of our approach relied on hands-on workshops. We simulated real-world scenarios and provided practical exercises using actual forensic tools, ensuring a case-based learning experience that resonated with their actual casework.
Measurable Impact and Outcomes
The training resulted in a dramatic improvement in the technical proficiency of the department's staff. They are now capable of navigating complex SAP ERP systems with an investigative mindset, leveraging tools like AXIOM and Cellebrite effectively.
This empowered workforce has significantly increased its efficiency in handling digital evidence and processing ERP data, leading to a marked reduction in dependency on external forensic consultants. The organization now boasts a stronger internal investigation capability and heightened compliance awareness.
